Characterization of genomic and complementary DNA sequence of human C-reactive protein, and comparison with the complementary DNA sequence of serum amyloid P component.
Complementary and genomic DNA clones corresponding to the human C-reactive protein (CRP) mRNA and structural gene have been analyzed and compared. Nucleotide sequencing of the coding regions of both cDNA and genomic DNA revealed an additional 19 amino acid peptide not described in the published CRP amino acid sequence. The CRP gene contains a single 278 base pair intron within the codon specify...
متن کاملC-REACTIVE PROTEIN RESPONSE IN ANGINA PECTORIS
C-reactive protein (CRP) response was studied in 44 patients with acute angina pectoris admitted to the coronary care unit. 71 % of patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI)had positive CRP test while 73% of patients presumed to have unstable angina pectoris had negative CRP test. This test can be helpful in differentiating between acute MI and unstable angina pectoris.
متن کاملProtein A--a new ligand for human C-reactive protein.
Phosphorylcholine (PC) is a classical ligand of C-reactive protein (CRP), a clinically important acute phase protein. In search of new ligands, CRPs were affinity-purified from several pathological samples, which exhibited distinct molecular variants induced in different diseases. Both glycosylated and non-glycosylated CRPs showed calcium-independent differential-binding to Staphylococcus aureu...
متن کاملExtrahepatic transcription of human C-reactive protein
We synthesized and cloned cDNA from human peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) transcripts that were hybrid selected by pCRP5, a liver C-reactive protein (CRP)-specific cDNA (Woo, P.,J.R. Korenberg, and A.S. Whitehead. 1985. J.Biol. Chem. 260:13384). Three hybrid-selected cDNA clones, HScDNA1, HScDNA3, and HScDNA8, were isolated and characterized. Nucleotide sequence analysis of the 5' end ...
